1、定语从句
先行词指物时， 关系代词用that 或which（在句中作主语或宾语）。如：China is a country which / that has a large population.
The computer game which/ that he is playing is his favorite.
先行词指人时， 关系代词用（who）作主语或宾语，whom (作宾语)，whose(作定语)，that (作主语或宾语)。 如：
The man who is mending the machine has been retired.
This is the policeman who/ whom they were talking about yesterday.
I like the girl whose mother is an actor.
练习： 1）他就是这么多年来我依靠的人。
2）作为生命之源的水，正面临缺乏的危险。
2、状语从句
让步状语从句时，as意为“虽然，尽管”，通常从句要倒装，倒装的方法是将从句的表语或状语放在as之前。如：
Heavily as it was raining outside, they started out very early.
练习：1）While I was reading a book, my wife was watching TV.
2）He pays le attention to English learning so that he fails in this exam.
3、强调句型 强调句型的基本结构为\"It is/was＋被强调部分＋that/who＋句子的其它部分\"。当被强调部分为sb.，且在句中作主语时，可用who，也可用that，其它情况一律用that。如：It is the cat that stole the fish.

4、倒装句型
以否定词开头的句子要求部分倒装。注意下列句子中助动词或情态动词提前、甚至补充助动词的用法。如：
Not until yesterday did little John change his mind.（小约翰直到昨天才改变了主意。）以否定副词开头并加状语的句子要求部分倒装。这些否定副词有barely, hardly, little, seldom, scarcely…… when, never, no sooner…… than, rarely, no more, nor nearly, not only等以及only。如：
Only under special circumstances _________ to take make-up tests.
A) are freshmen permitted C) permitted are freshmen
B) freshmen are permitted D) are permitted freshmen
如果含有从句时，只要求主句倒装，如：
Only after he had spoken out the word did he realize he had made a big mistake.（只有当他已经说出那个字后才意识到自己犯了个大错误。）
