----No, I haven’t.②I’ve already read it.③The book report is due in two weeks.(4) Structure: ①have +verb past participle ②Present Perfect Tense with already and yet. 2.Ability Object (1) Train students’ listening ability.(2) Enable students to understand and talk about recent events.3.Moral Objects Enable students to read books and love books.Teaching Key points Target language.Teaching Difficult Points 1.How to train students’ communicative competence..2.How to train students’ listening ability.Teaching Methods ALM, CLT, CLL, TPR Culture Object Learn about claical English and American literature.Teaching Aids A multimedia, a tape recorder, and some other objects.WARM-UP: Discuion (3mins) Show some pictures of original English books.Lead students to discu them.Give an example.T: Have you read The Star Zooyet? S1: No, I haven’t.Have you (read it)?( Help students to say.) T: Yes, I’ve already read it.S1: What’s it about? T: It’s about a sixteen-year-old girl named Hummingbird, who lives in 22,500.S1: What’s it like? T: It’s wonderful.T: He / She hasn’t (has not) read Treasure Islandyet.What about you? S2: Yes, I have. / No, I haven’t.(Help students to answer) T: Do you want to learn about more information about English original books? Ss: Yes, of course.T: Well, let’s start our new leon“Unit 8 Have you read Treasure Island yet?”

Show the tasks.STAGE1, PRESENTATION (approx.10mins) Step11a 1.Show the pictures of the six English books in 1a, ask students gue the abstracts of these books according to the pictures, present them and let students talk about them in pairs according to the above examples.T: Do you know these pictures? They are from six books.Have you heard of these books? S1: Yes, I have./ No, I haven’t.T: Have you read Alice in Wonderland? S2: No, I haven’t.Continue to ask the following questions: Do you know the main characters of these books? Which book titles tell us the main characters? What do you think of it? Which book do you like best? What’s it like? Present the books on the screen.2.Choose some students to perform their dialogues.Step 2Pre-task 1.Ask students to sum up the grammar, Present Perfect Tense with yet and already according the contexts that they practiced.2.Show the grammar on the screen and share it with the students.STAGE 2, PRACTICE ( approx.15 mins.) 1b Step 1 Present the listening strategies, ask students to write down the key information when listening, and they can design some symbols instead of the long sentences or vocabulary.For example, let students write a, b, c, d, e, f before the names of the books in 1a.Then let students look at the chart.

T: What books are they talking about? Play the tape.Ask three students to tell their answers and help them correct the first column.Step 2 T: Who has read these books? And what do they think of the books? Please just mark “tick” or “cro” in the third column, write the adjectives in the fourth column.Play the tape the second time.Ask students to listen to the tape again, and complete the rest blanks.

Check the answers with the whole cla.T: Has Nick read Treasure Island yet? Ss: No.T: No, he hasn’t’.T: Has Judy read Treasure Island? Ss: Yes.T: Yes, she has.What does she think of it? Ss: Exciting.T: She thinks it’s exciting.STAGE 3, PRODUCTION ( to end of this leon 17 mins.) Step 1 2a Make a survey first.Show the pictures about Treasure Island, Oliver Twist, Robinson Crusoe and Tom Sawyer.T: Well, now we’ve know the books that these six children have read.Here, I’d like to know who has read the book Treasure Island / Oliver Twist / Robinson Crusoe / Tom Sawyer.T: Listen to the tape again,please circle who has read these the above books and write down the books comments beside them.Help students check the answers.Ask students to introduce: Tina has read Treasure Island and Tom Sawyer.Both Tina and Mark have read Oliver Twist and Robinson Crusoe.2b Have students listen to the tape again, and write T for true and F for false.Check the answers with the whole cla.And then have students correct the wrong information.2c T: After listening, we’ve got some information from 2a and 2b talk about the books.Ask two students to read the conversation, then practice the conversation using the information in 2a and 2b.Get several pairs of students to act lout their conversations to the cla.2d T: Now we’ve known Tina and Mark have read these masterpieces.Do you often read English books? What claic books have you already read? What’s it like? S1: …

T: We should not only read books, but also write comments.American students often have aignments about book comments.Ask students to read the dialog with the following questions: 1.Which books have Amy and Steve chosen to write about? 2.Has Steve finished reading his book yet? What’s the book about? What does he think of the book? 3.Has Amy finished reading her book yet? How many pages has she already read? What’s it like? 4.When do they have to hand in the book report? Help students check the answers.Have students infer the meanings of hurry up and due.Play the tape and have students follow it.After that, get several pairs of students to act out to the cla.Summary: First, ask students to sum up the language points, then share mine with them.T: In this cla, we have learned some important words, such as treasure, island, claic, page, due, hurry up, put down.We’ve also learned the target language: Have you read Little Women yet?
