Good morning, dear profeors.Thank you for giving me the oral defence.I am Zhao dongxue from English education cla 3.Here, I want to give my sincere thanks to my supervisor Gao Feng.She really helped me a lot in the proce of my thesis writing.The title of my thesis is “The discuion on the claroom teaching model of English reading in senior high school under the new curriculum”.The reason why I choose this topic can be divided into two aspects.One is that studying this topic can give me some experience in English reading teaching practice.The other is that my own reading ability is relatively poorer than other English skills, I want to improve my own ability through the study of this topic.The whole thesis consists of five parts.In the first part, I briefly introduced the importance of English reading, the comprehension of the new curriculum and the reason why I choose this topic.In the second part, I analyze the current situation of English reading cla in senior high schools by investigating and sitting in on several English claes.The current situation includes the malpractice of traditional teaching model, and the influential factors and obstacles of students’ English reading.In the third part, I found theoretical foundations for different teaching models by searching in the library or on the Internet, including internal and external theories.In the fourth part, I discu the application of different teaching models.Finally, I sum up the topic I choose and point out the existing problems.Of course, my thesis is not perfect.For example, I should discu more kinds of teaching models used in senior schools.Also, I could link English teaching models with more linguistic theories.Maybe I could make further research on these two areas in the future.That’s all.Thank you for your listening.

Thanks for your asking.There are many reasons why I choose this topic.Firstly, studying this topic can give me some experience in English reading teaching practice.Then, my own reading ability is relatively poorer than other English skills, I want to improve my own ability through the study of this topic.What’s more, the academic value of this topic is in that it provides internal and external theories for English reading teaching.Combining theory with practice enables reading teaching to have more realistic meaning.For the college entrance exam, English reading takes a more and more important position.The study on this topic is absolutely neceary.
2、What do you want the readers to get from your thesis? Thanks for your asking.Firstly, I want them to know the current situation of English reading cla in senior high schools.Then, they will learn some internal and external reading theories including the new curriculum, the schema theory and so on.Finally, under the guidance of those theories, readers will see the application of different teaching models.Through all of these, readers can get a basic frame of English reading teaching model in senior high schools.

5、Expre the history and current situation of this topic.Thanks for your asking.Teaching models develop a lot as time paed.Traditional model refers to teachers’ interpreting and students’ taking notes.Teachers usually translate the texts word for word and sentence for sentence for their students in reading cla, not knowing if students really comprehend the text.Although some teachers use traditional model, other teachers used some new teaching models like cooperative learning and conversational teaching.In my thesis, I analyze the malpractice of traditional model and the application of the new models.

8、What do you think is the biggest deficiency/ shortcoming/ disadvantage/existing problem of your thesis? Thanks for your asking.I think in my thesis, some theories are just simply introduced.What I should do is to expre those theories more thoroughly.Also, there are still some other useful teaching models I did not discu in my thesis.
